His Holiness the Gyalwang Drukpa, the spiritual head of the glorious Drukpa Lineage, and his predecessors are revered as the authentic reincarnations of Naropa, the eleventh-century saint of historical India.

As the people of Ladakh and the Himalayas follow very much the Drukpa tradition, due to Naropa's blessings, His Holiness held the Sight-Liberating Naropa Ceremony where he put on the priceless Six Bone Ornaments of Naropa, three times in Ladakh (Northern India), and the most recent one just took place on 2nd July 2004.
