FEARLESSNESS IN TROUBLED TIMES (Part 1) (Teaching by the Gyalwang Drukpa)... "The topic "fearlessness" is often talked about and emphasized in Buddhist terminology. I think other religions also say something about fearlessness but maybe they have a different way of looking at this. However, what we have to see, philosophically and lifewise, through a general way of looking at fearlessness and through developing some understanding of looking at life genuinely, is that the ordinary or nature state of your life is really fearless....."

THE KEY TO HAPPINESS (An interview with H.E. the Ninth Khamtrul Rinpoche Jigme Pema Nyinjadh)... "The only wish I have is, with His Holiness's blessings, I will be able to practice more and more, and that I may be able to decrease the five poisons (ignorance, anger, pride, desire and jealousy) in me each day. As I decrease the five poisons inside me, as I develop more and more compassion, I think I will be able to be happier and happier, and when I become happy, I can show others how to be happy. I think my main goal is to be happy..."

LINEAGE BLESSINGS: A Conversation between Lama Surya Das and His Holiness the Twelfth Gyalwang Drukpa... "His Holiness is an old friend of Lama Surya Das, who was his English tutor at his monastery in Darjeeling, India in the early seventies when His Holiness was 10 or 11 years of age. Lama Surya Das is the founder of the Dzogchen Center in the United States and author of Natural Radiance, Awakening the Buddha Within and a number of other books. This conversation took place at Lama Surya's hermitage and sanctuary, Dzogchen Osel Ling, outside Austin, Texas. The Dzogchen Center hosted His Holiness again in the United States during the first week of May 2006 when he taught in Cambridge and New York City..."

CHICKEN FOOT MOUNTAIN (by Lobsang Thargay)... "Chicken Foot Mountain is the holy place of Maitreya, the future Buddha. Arya Asanga, the founder of the Yogacharya school of Buddhism, spent a total of twelve years meditating on Maitreya Buddha at Chicken Foot Mountain. When he did not get a visible sign of progress after spending three years in meditation, he was disheartened and decided to leave. As he left his cave, he noticed that the surface of the rock had been smoothed out, due to the daily flapping of the birds’ wings on the rock. Then he understood that he had to persevere in his meditation and went back into the cave and meditated for another three years...."

VOICES OF THE WALKING PILGRIMS... "In February 2006, nine international Sangha members were invited to participate in a five hundred kilometer walking pilgrimage from Kathmandu (in Nepal) to Bodhgaya and Varanasi (in India) that was led by His Holiness the Twelfth Gyalwang Drukpa. To be more precise, some of us requested to go on this pilgrimage and some were asked to go but were hoping that His Holiness might drop the idea at the last minute! Apart from His Holiness and the nine of us, other participants included: seven Rinpoches of our lineage from Darjeeling; the Venerable Rigden Rinpoche from Derge in Tibet; Orgyen Master from Zhichen Gompa in Tibet; seventy-three nuns from Druk Amitabha Mountain in Nepal; two Ladakhis and some monks...."

MEETING ENLIGHTENMENT (by Jigme Chokyi Senge)... "The next day I met His Holiness. I was surprised to meet a master who was just two years younger than me. In my world of dreams and expectations I was thinking of an ‘old’ guru with a long beard, wearing a ragged old shawl and sitting in a cave far away in the mountains whom I would meet after an arduous journey into hidden lands in the Himalayas (I had even got my teeth thoroughly checked before my trip, for I was expecting some kind of heavy spiritual trekking in search of my master!). And here I was with a being younger than me...."
