A PROGRESS REPORT
Due to technical reasons, we have to appoint an additional professional photographer, Dorjee, who is from Ladakh and a student of His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa, to cover the border region where there are several ancient monasteries of the Drukpa Lineage. James Gritz, the professional photographer from the United States of America, has covered most of the monasteries in Ladakh (including Mulbekh and Zanskar), Lahaul, Kinnaur and South India. Together with Lobsang Thargay, who is very knowledgeable about the history of the lineage, James will begin a 18-day journey in Bhutan, starting from September 18, followed by Nepal, where his photography job will end.
We would like to thank everyone, especially the monk-body of Bhutan who has kindly offered their full support and assistance in this project. We also would like to thank the Mexican Sangha and all the Sangha of the Drukpa Order from all over the world who have been continuously sending in financial sponsorship, against the backdrop of economic difficulties in the world.
This project would not have been possible without everyone's help. We also would like to welcome Dick Polak to our team. Dick will be helping with the marketing and the business aspect of the Heritage Book.
At the end of James and Dorjee's journey, we will be publishing the total expenses, which will give all the benefactors, especially the Dragonite Club Members and the Friends of Dragonites, a clear picture of the financial situation. We are still short of 136 Dragonites to ensure that the Heritage Book will be published without hindrance. We look forward to your continuous support!
James has emailed us about selected collection of over 20 photographs, please enjoy:
